Another great synthetic 'blue' release comes to mind: Laroche's Horizon, or, more recently, Blue Santal and Hermann A Mes Cotes Me Paraissait Une Ombre. interesting aside, i don't get the sense of much l'eau d'issey dna, but if i smell my skin between hour 3 and 4, i smell a smooth and serene citrus. Nice enough, but like just too many other Issey Miyake's veritable army of irrelevant flankers, it straddles too many discordant styles to define itself well.

I do have to spray about 8-10 times though for it to last at all, but I'm slowly coming around on this one.It wasn't the best scent in my small collection back then but it was the scent I kept going back to. Fifteen minutes later, a semi-dirty vetiver/leather-ish kind of accord kicks in, muddying the whole affair in a way that I just don't understand. It has a base of musk and white patchouli forms the foundation of the fragrance, while a gentle interlude of pink pepper, mate herb, and may rose lead to an invigorating crescendo of mint, bergamot, and rosemary. if you are a younger man and enjoy aquatics like aqua di gio, nautica voyage, bvlgari aqua marine etc.

Dirty Blue Leather, its a very odd pairing for a fragrance, it has some freshness up top but then it hits you with heavy dark tones right after, may not be as easy to process for casual noses, this is def not your typical casual daytime blue or freshie. I think is worth its money for a clean office smell and daily wear without having to concern about the level of juice on the bottle. The combination of lime and woods is perfectly amenable, but unremarkable, and longevity is disappointing.

It's missing the characteristic yuzu opening that the original has but it's not missed in this version. It's got a touch of the almost seaweedy earthiness of something like Bulgari Atlantique, it's got something woody happening in there, and definitely pine somewhere in the middle, but that slightly citrusy pine of green pine sprouts, not like a dry aged pine. Problem with weather in Michigan, this week it's Spring, next week we have temps in the 30s and snow flying, which can easily happen into April. It gets a bit rosier and woodier into its dry down, with the herbaceous quality persisting into its dry down, muskier, earthier, patchouli and cedar most prominent in the base. Opens with a burst of lemongrass, and orange which smells a little synthetic but only for a few minutes, then the lavender with a hint of rose kicks in, after 10 minutes you smell like a pine forest, dries down to a cedar and strong oakmoss scent. I too can wear it and I am head over heals happy to recieve straight compliments or just shy "what is that perfume?L'Eau Bleue makes a deceptively minimalist and austere impression, yet read the reviews: clearly it is complex and elusive. Cool winds blowing through patches of herbs and spices, an almost overwhelming mélange kept in check by the salted breeze. Defiantly a awesome scent kinda unique in its own way but this is also the first Issey fragrance I’ve smelled but wow he’s doing something right.
