About this deal

Kallor's voice boomed. 'Anomander Rake! I seek your clearest vision-I seek the justice of your sword-allow none to sway you with sentiment, and that includes Korlat, who would now whisper urgent in your ear!' There is one character who reminded me the most of that quote and that is the leader of the Pannion Domin but again, I can't explain more without spoiling the book for you but I hope that those of you who have read it will get what I was trying to say. *fingers crossed* A Malazan book usually takes me twice as long to read as compared to another fantasy of similar length. This one, in particular, was really dense with so much to take in; from all the foreshadowing to the revelations, to the amazing battle scenes, and the empathetic development of a vast cast of characters. However, Erikson's writing and narrative skills seem to be improving as we move from one book to the other and in spite of the density of the overarching plot, Memories of Ice was easier to appreciate than its predecessors. When I was done with the Deadhouse Gates I found it to be the most brutal and soul crushing book I've ever read and this one comes as a close second. There are a lot of tragedies hitting our beloved characters and this may sound a bit morbid but there is some poetic beauty in those tragedies that makes this series what it is.

Kallor thwarts the rebellious mages that attempt to unseat him as Emperor and even manages to fatally curse three Elder Gods that come to punish him for his brutality. They find Kallor Atop a Mountain of Corpses sacrificed to fuel his magic, and he's done the same to multiple provinces throughout his Empire. He's then cursed by the three Gods to suffer immortality and to never see his plans succeed. Both Kallor's curses and the Gods' take effect, so it's almost a wash. Memories of Ice is an epic fantasy novel by Canadian writer Steven Erikson, the third volume in his series the Malazan Book of the Fallen. The events of Memories of Ice begin just after the first book, Gardens of the Moon, and at the same time as the second, Deadhouse Gates. Memories of Ice is the third book of the series entitled A Tale of the Malazan Book of The Fallen. It follows directly after the events of the first book, Gardens of the Moon, and runs concurrently to the events in the second book, Deadhouse Gates. The Man Behind the Man: The Pannion Seer is first made out to be the Big Bad, then it turns out he is one of the Jaghut children from the prologue and was compelled to his actions by the Crippled God. MoI is the third book in the epic series about Malazan. It’s really epic as I haven’t read any such other series with quite long books, so many characters and many plots/subplots. Moreover things are now really starting to make sense for me when I finished MoI! :D But I’m just a silly lass so don’t mind these words. You may feel different about the book :) So, if you love Epic Fantasy, or any military genres, and have some tolerance for heavier content with difficult at times imagery, but full of action and multitude of well-thought out plot-lines, as well as very memorable and compelling characters, this series is for you!!! It is not easy-going and there are no rainbows and fluffy clouds or coy romance, but there is a lot of substance and wonderful pay-off! It is not a perfect book, but it is oooo, so worth it:) Characters marked with have been vetted as being displayed in a spoiler friendly way (you should be OK as long as you do not scroll beyond the book titles you have read).

Demoni risalenti a epoche remote, prima dell’uomo e prima dei T’lan Imass e dei loro acerrimi nemici, i Jaghut. Someone from the past will show up with a completely different name and you will have to try to figure out who they are. Sometimes it is easy and other times you really have to work for it.Un volume meno epico del precedente, molto più improntato alla campagna militare e agli intrighi, che ci disvela un altro po’ l’imponente ambientazione Malazaniana. That is for me to decide, for I exist to command them. To command them all. My birth proclaimed the Gathering – a demand that every T’lan Imass on this world has heard. And now, those who are able, are coming. They are coming.” Child by Rape: The so called Children of the Dead Seed are the products of women who have gone mad due to cannibalism taking to the battle field and having their way with the corpses of very recently dead or dying soldiers, based on how the soldiers' bodies would release a last portion of semen upon death. Anaster, in particular, is the product of such a situation and it is heavily implied that he has no soul and becomes a violent cannibal thanks to that.

Le Spade Grigie, mercenari religiosi devoti a Fener; la guardia di carovane Gruntle; un antico Dio primordiale, due necromanti. Well played, sir! But what now? There's seven or so more books. What's left? Holocaust denial and a sub-prime lending crisis? The ancient wars of the T'lan Imass and the Jaghut saw the world torn asunder. Vast armies contended on the ravaged lands, the dead piled high, their bone the bones of hills, their spilled blood the blood of seas. Sorceries raged until the sky itself was fire... Ancient Histories, Vol. I Chapter 16: The Tenescowri unleashed. Note to prospective reader: Do not attempt this chapter during lunch break. Celibate Hero: Shield Anvil Itkovian is celibate and one of the major figures in the resistence of the Grey Swords, owing it to his religious vows. Hetan tries to seduce him several times, but he resists each time. Even after his sworn god, Fener, seems to have disappeared, Itkovian remains an example of this trope.
