About this deal

Besides, you can replace the blade after serving you properly, and the installation process of a new blade is as easy as ABC. With a total of six cutting heights available, the WG779E.2 offers a nice selection of positions for the blade to get the perfect cut in any condition. Ranging from 20mm to 70mm, the settings are suitable for varying lawn conditions, whether it’s long and overgrown grass or short, well-maintained grass. Do you like a striped lawn? Well the WORX does have a roller at the rear that gives that lovely striped look to your lawn. The roller also has suspension allowing it to adapt better to the contours of your lawn. This is another advantage over the Flymo 300 – if you like striped lawns that is! On the whole, you’re getting a pretty decent mower with the WORX WG743E.1 and it’s difficult to see that there are many cons to report. However, if you are looking for a downside, this could be that there is no roller for creating a stripy lawn – if that takes your fancy.

Granted, it is not the cheapest cordless lawn mower in the small to medium yard game. But it is still budget-friendly and you get extras like the mulching option, roller and wider range of cutting heights, that aren't on the most affordable models. But where power is concerned, there’s nothing quite as impressive as the super-fast dual charger that’s included in the box. With a maximum charge time of just one hour, no time is wasted. The Worx WG779E.2 comes with a dual charger and two 20V batteries. Depending on where you buy it, these batteries will be either 2.0Ah or 4.0Ah and we were supplied with the 4.0Ah battery pair. Both will result in the same power, but the 4.0Ah battery will mean you can work at high power for longer. When mowing, the WG779E performed excellently on my medium-sized garden, its cut-to-edge design allowing me to get closer to fences without digging out my strimmer afterwards. Also, metal blades are sharper with more cutting power for the most satisfactory result. You can sharpen the blade, unlike a plastic blade, so that you can cut effectively for a tidier finish.

I was able to keep the mower, meaning I have now been using it regularly for nearly three years. This allowed me to not just get a view on it out of the box, but also over time, seeing how durable its parts are and how the battery fares. The final feature to call out is the roller which I have spotted is less common on cordless mowers, especially those of this price point. If that tennis-court-style stripe is your lawn dream, the roller helps achieve it.

Returning your item

Most lawn mower manufacturers recommend replacing the blade every year. That means mine is well overdue, so I am very impressed with the cutting results I am getting with that considered. How does it rate online? But what can we expect from this product? Is it worth the money and will it perform as well as we would expect? Let’s take a look. Main Features Better still, the batteries are part of the Powershare range from WORX, being interchangeable with a range of compatible cordless power tools. If you are thinking of buying other cordless garden or power tools, this is a great opportunity to save some money and extend the runtime of your various tools.

In comparison, the Flymo Mighti-Mo 300 takes the same 2 hours to charge as the WG779E.2 but the the WORX will last longer with the ability to cut a lawn up to 350 m². This is surprising as the Flymo Mighti-Mo 300 weighs 3 kg less than the WG779E.2. The light weight, small size and fold away handles make this mower excellent for smaller to medium lawns or lawns with smaller strips of grass and for storage where space is limited. The battery power indicator will give you a clear idea of how much juice you have left, so that you’ll never run out unexpectedly. The handle folds away for easy storage so it won’t end up taking up masses of space in your shed or outbuilding. Furthermore there are two feet at the rear of the mower allowing you to store this product vertically, saving even more space. Mark one more thought…has it ever occurred to you that a mower with the lowest two settings of 20 and 30mm such as this one effectively rules out the use of the lowest 20mm one if you adhere to the rule of never lowering the grass height by more than 1/3?!The ability to take advantage of Worx's PowerShare battery system is a big pull, too. Being able to use the same batteries and chargers for all your power tools makes storage and use more streamlined. The blades on this model offer a generous 40cm cutting width which means that your efficiency is going to be handsomely improved, this is especially important on larger lawned areas or those that require a little more attention after winter, for example.

On the contrary, as someone who has reviewed a few cordless mowers, the WG779E.2 outperforms its competitors in this department. The mower comes with two 2.0A or 4.0A batteries, and both are interchangeable with other Worx products, which is a nice bonus if you’re already invested in their power tool range. When we test mowers we like to try all of the features. I have tested the full range of cutting heights, and used it both with and without the mulching plug. I have tested on both wet and dry grass, and used it for frequent trimming versus that first mow of spring when the lawn is a little unruly. One of the most notable things about the power system here is that the rechargeable batteries are power shareable, so if you’ve got other WORX tools in the shed, you’ve now got two spare batteries. For example, the easy-start feature is far more preferable to the pulling/recoil method of the petrol lawn mower which, if you’ve ever used you will know, can be a nightmare and often painful to start. The easy-on safety switch works like a charm. WORX WG743E.1 User Manual With a grass box capacity of 30 litres, you may not be able to get a better deal for a cordless mower. This means you won’t have to experience frequent box evacuations when working for a longer period. The grass box had an indicator so that it will be easier for you to monitor its progress. It is easy to remove, you only need to lift the flap and unhook it. PracticalitiesOne of the most notable things about the WORX WG743E.1 is the generous grass collection box which holds up to 45 litres. The grass collection box has a hard top for durability and cloth mesh sides for improved air circulation (better collection) and enabling the box to fold flat for reduced storage. Practicalities
