ciao for now: meaning - WordSense

I have been meaning to read a novel by Kate Bromley for a while now, and I'm thrilled I started with Ciao For Now. There are quite a few different tropes woven into it, such as forced proximity and enemies to lovers, and it was a wonderful romcom that I would definitely watch if it were made into a movie. Much of the book is set in Rome which I loved, but I also really enjoyed that it ended in New York with Violet realizing precisely what she needs to do. The book is told entirely from her perspective, which I thought worked quite well for the storyline, and she grows quite a bit by the novel's end. I also loved the focus on fashion and despite this being a romance, it is also about Violet's journey and how she pursues her passion for design. Maybe one day all the languages in the world will come together and become one massive mega-language.I am calling it now...."Ciao for Now" by Kate Bromley is going to be in my top books for 2023. I am already adding this novel to my 'All Time Favorites' shelf where it will join one of her other novels "Talk Bookish to Me". Kate Bromley has yet to disappoint me. Her novels are auto-buy for me and I can whole heartedly recommend them to others.! Warning to the current queens of contemporary romance, Kate Bromley is coming for your title! OK....sorry my review turned into a letter to the Kate Bromley fan club..... This section does not cite any sources. Please help improve this section by adding citations to reliable sources. ( June 2009) ( Learn how and when to remove this template message) If you like enemies to lovers and forced proximity tropes this is it, I don't want to spoil it so I'll just add the the way they finally come together is very well thought. I just love snarky flirty banter… grumpy/sunshine and especially… enemies to lovers!! This is ALL of that!!😍😍 The characters are all endearing and charming, with depth and emotional intelligence that make them relatable. The vivid descriptions of Rome made me feel like I was there, and I have never wanted to travel to Italy more than I do now!

When Violet lands a fashion internship in Rome, she must step up to complete against her two (younger) classmates to win the ultimate prize of a job at a New York label. There’s only one problem: her professor’s son, Matt, is her ultimate enemy from the start! Can Violet push forward towards her fashion goals, or will she remain distracted by Matt? Ciao for Now is the perfect enemies to lovers romance book! Thank you #partners @uplitreads and @graydonhousebooks for my #gifted copy, and for including me on this campaign 💞One of my favorite parts is the location they go in the book. It really feels like being there. Excellent book! Pronounced with a long [aː], it means "Hello, I'm so glad to meet you!" (be it sincere or sarcastic) in Italian, and a sarcastic or humorous use of "bye!" (cf. American English) in Portuguese. It can be used in Italian to express sarcasm at another person's point of view about one topic, especially when that opinion sounds outdated, in which case the meaning is comparable to the English "Yeah, right!" Fashion, spectacular sightseeing in Italy, marvelous food, chilled Prosecco, explosive chemistry between characters - such a powerful romance blended with enemies-to-lovers and forced proximity, sunshine-meets-grump tropes, reminding us of the Italian version of "Emily in Paris" as "Violet in Rome": this is the recipe for the best romcom! Thank you to Harlequin Trade Publishing, NetGalley and Kate Bromley for the ARC of Ciao for Now. I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
